"Jayhaed has hidden some of the equipment and won't tell police where it is, not even his father Georges Saade. "

That would be contempt and / or obstruction of justice.

Those are full on felonies.

Frankly, this little punk (and I mean that in the eyes of the law) needs to be reprimanded and hard.... and if not, as we know parents are liable for the actions of their children.. go after the father. No excuse for this kind of behaviour...

I'm assuming "no charges will be laid" is probably "if you comply with the court order" (or it is a misinterpretation... we have to hear the official line from the RCMP/IC before holding the parent's word as gospel). I'm assuming if he does not pont up the goods, he will be charged.

^^^ Yup you're right. So was he there dismantling/hidding the stuff?

I really don't get his game here. Did he think that if the raid came and the RCMP couldn't take the stuff he could just hook it all up again and no one would notice??? :groan:

Kenneth Jackson/Ottawa Sun
Perhaps IC tipped Kenneth Jackson off. Why not DH? DH has given far more exposure to the story than the Sun. I suspect they decided DH was critical of their slow moving process. I suppose another possibility is George Saade himself called the press.

I think someone in the Ottawa area should call in with a song request. ;)

P.S. This thread is almost 1000 posts (which I'm sure it will surpass today). Over 1/4th of the entire Canadian Radio and Music forum posts are from this one thread.

If they did, then they lied to me when I asked if they were investigating and would they be charging him.

and they answered

We cannot comment further on this ongoing investigation.

My guess is that Georges Saadé or Jayhaed Saadé tipped off the press. The picture wasn't on the story when it was first posted, which was about 20 minutes after the RCMP and IC are said to have done the raid, so the timing on the photographer makes sense.

As of about 11:45 a.m., RCMP and Industry Canada officials were at the Saade International Hotel on Bank St. in Gloucester attempting to shut it down.
Georges Saade said the RCMP called pretending to rent a room, because the hotel door was locked at 9 a.m. He said the Mounties had to call in a locksmith to gain access.
My speculation follows....
Jayhaed determines the authorities are coming. Locks the hotel door (why else would a *hotel* lock it's door?). This gives him 2+ hrs to dismantle and hide what gear he can. It's quite possible the gear is still in the hotel/bar/restaurant or on the grounds.

Guys, please lets try to stay on topic.

Why, exactly, does this kid think that spending his inheretance on radio equipment means he should be allowed to transmit? No safety precautions at all? If they don't charge the kid, they should at least charge the father, since he is responsible for the kids actions. "Stupid Canadians"? Jeez, deport the little creep.

Saade International Hotel

I drive by the Saade International Hotel every day on my way home from work.

It has a Chinese/Canadian restaurant, painted menu items in the windows, and an attached strip club ("Diamonds"). It certainly doesn't look like the classiest of places.

I just wonder about his dad's business sense by letting his kid run an illegal operation out of that same building. Its obvious where the kid gets his [dis]respect of Canadian law.
