Please change your name to "manwithwronganswers". The reason it's not on Cogeco has nothing to do with it being available only to satellite subscribers - as noted above, it's on Shaw and Rogers. It has to do with the kind of carriage the NFL Network requires, in my opinion.

According to your post and the idea behind it, Cogeco wouldn't have any channel because Satellite has them ! LOL What a load of crap...

No wonder you don't work for Cogeco anymore...

Please rethink your professionnal career... It's people like you that give bad reputation to ISPs sales & support...

Yeah, this issue comes down to the mighty dollar. Obviously, Cogeco and the NFL could not work out a carriage fee. At one time I was informed by Cogeco,"that a carriage agreement was imminent." Sadly, that was almost 3 years ago, when the channel was planned for 156 here in the Niagara Region.

You have all misread that post "primarily on satellite providers"
As in with a satellite company you WILL get that channel opportunity.
Rogers and Shaw have contracts for that channel. Cogeco doesn't, as well further North (Sudbury/Timmins/Sault Ste/ Marie) have other companies, Eastlink, and Persona..neither of those companies offer NFL Network either.

You are wrong. Please accept that. In Canada the CRTC does not allow exclusive deals like in the USA. The only reason Cogeco does not offer the channel is because of $. NFL Network requires digital basic packaging, meaning that everyone with digital gets it, whether they want it or not. If Cogeco doesn't feel they can recoup that cost, then it's pretty damn expensive to them.

travisc is dead-on with his comments.

However, NFL Network is still garbage and we still will get the few games they show on TSN (in HD, no less). Clearly most of you angling for this channel have never had to sit through 8 straight hours of NFL Follies during May.

The NFL has an immense library of fantastic old games, yet the "greatest games" they were showing this past week was the MNF Dallas - Philly game from last year where DeSean Jackson drops the ball at the 5 yard line thinking it was the goal line. It was a good game, but there are plenty of games from the 70's & 80's that many viewers would love to see again (or see for the first time).

Time to wise up, NFL!
