Yes we lost the majority of our time shifting channels when we moved last month. Different channels on each of our three receivers. Called Bell and had some difficulty in explaining what had happened to the CSR. Finally I requested a teck who was very helpful and reprogramed my receivers. Even called back during his meal break to make sure all was okay. Thanks for a positive customer service situation. Even got a small credit for the inconvenience without asking.

intermittant reception problem.

I have 2 6131 receivers both with the new guide on them. In the last 2 weeks one of them has been acting up. I get intermittent lines showing up on the screen that in the old days I would describe as interference. They last for a few seconds and then go away. Sometimes they return quickly other times not for an hour or so. Sometimes they show up quickly after receiver is turned on and sometimes it could be an hour or so before they show. I have reset the receiver, run a check switch and checked signal strength. Before I have Bell come out anybody have any other ideas. I am not certain it is happening on the other receiver as I don't watch it that often. Others in the house that use it have not complained but to be honest I don't know that that means it isn't doing it. If Bell needs to come out is there a service charge? I am in the middle of a rent to own deal if that makes any difference.

Swap the receivers to see if it makes a difference. I suspect it's one of a few things.

1) The TV.
2) 2 outputs on the receiver (you didn't specify if you were using HDMI or component)
3) The HDMI/Component cables

There would be a $75 + tax service charge to send a tech out unless you've had a tech out within the last 90 days, in that case it would be under warranty.

Thank you for the info Joe. I don't believe it is the tv as I don't get this problem on either my ota set up or while watching a dvd. The receiver is hooked up by component cables. Interestingly yesterday I never saw the problem while watching a football game. If it surfaces again I will try a swap of cables and see what happens.

Yes they are. They were originally going to roll out the latest version to the units that had not yet taken the update, ie the ones that were still on the old Blue Guide. Thankfully someone decided that was a bad idea and they started rolling it out to those with the new IPG.

I am sure when they are convinced it works, they will implement it for everyone.

Now, will this be 'forced' on everyone, I don't know. As you may be aware there is an option in the guide to not take updates, they might choose the bypass this and force an updated.

I hear ya. Although I do think most of my problem is that I have a 50" Panasonic Plasma in the Bedroom.....lol Could not refuse it at $167.50 on E-Bay......lol

I have 5 6131 receivers on my bell account. 3 of the 5 have the new 176 black guide software upgrade. 2 of them still don't have the upgrade. They are plugged in and still nothing. It auto-offs after 4 hours, so there is no reason why it wouldn't get it. Anyone else still on old software? How can I get the newest software?

I know of dozens with the old software. You will get it when your R00# is chosen to be updated by Bell, nothing you can do to speed that up.
