Well i just signed into prime video on my android smart phone and it welcomed me to the profiles feature. Created one for wife, myself and one for the kids. Wish me luck

Finally! Checked my account today and profile creation was there. Created those for household members and then briefed them to only use their profile while watching, in whichever device they watch. Hope it works as well as Netflix.

Profiles finally showed up on my Fire TV Stick 4K today, but not on my Apple TV. I won’t bother with this feature, since I’m the only viewer in my household, but at least it’s there.

The first three episodes of Season Five of The Expanse premiere Dec. 16 on Amazon Prime Video, with new episodes available each Wednesday following, culminating in an epic season finale on February 3, 2021. (Source)

From what I've seen, dropping an entire series on the same date has mostly been a Netflix phenomenon. They release so much content that they can probably do so without hurting their bottom line. Amazon may have done the same in the past. Most other services release so few original series that they need to retain subscribers and stretch subscriptions as long as possible. People could wait until the final episode airs and then binge, of course, but that may not happen with highly anticipated titles.

I only subscribe to streaming services a month or two at a time then cancel when I run out of new titles. Amazon video typically only gets activated around Prime Day and Black Friday when there are other benefits to subscribing.

Amazon Studios today announced it has ordered a sixth and final season of The Expanse, in advance of the fifth season, which will premiere December 16th on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. (Source)

I noticed that the Stephen King miniseries “The Stand” is shown on the Amazon Prime video home page, and that a preview “Episode 0” is viewable. However, other episodes from 1-9, although an episode synopsis is available for each one, are being shown as “unavailable “. I understand that this series was supposed to be shown on CBS All Access, starting last fall, but was only made available to US subscribers, with rights issues making it unavailable to Canadian subscribers.

It‘s puzzling that Amazon now seems to say that the series is included with Amazon Prime video, yet the episodes themselves aren’t viewable. I’m wondering whether the episodes will become viewable at some future date?

Amazon Prime Video Canada twitter is showing the premiere date for The Stand as March 19th.

Thanks for the heads up, Peppermint P. I never thought of checking their Twitter account. It’s good to know that it’s actually going to be shown in Canada, and not put on their site by mistake.

American Gods is a Starz series, so Amazon Canada doesn't get the weekly episode until it's shown on the Starz channel in the U.S.
EDIT: Starz just renewed American Gods for season 3.

'American Gods' Canceled at Starz | Hollywood Reporter
American Gods is done at Starz.
The Lionsgate-backed premium cable network has canceled the troubled Neil Gaiman drama after three seasons. Sources say Starz is in talks with producers Fremantle for a potential event series or movie that would wrap up the story based on Gaiman's novel of the same name.

Prime Video Canada has a big summer sale on that features several add on channels like Starz, Britbox, PBS, Shudder, Sundance Now, Hollywood Suite and many others at 50% off for 3 months. In addition, there are many movie titles on sale. The first one that stood out to me was The Father for 2.99. If you subscribe to Amazon, the sale is definitely worth checking out.
I was planning on adding a couple of these for a few months over the summer anyway after the NBA playoffs, so this is ideal.

It makes sense if you read the article - 45 days after the theatrical release. I wonder if it's an Amazon exclusive or if people can watch it on VOD for $6.99 or whatever if they don't have Amazon Prime. A little off-topic, but David Friend also tweeted "Paramount Plus is a hollow streaming disaster in Canada that houses mostly old sitcoms, but almost none of what people are actually talking about."
