SD Card Slot has stopped working.

This has happened before on my laptop.
For some reason it has stopped recognizing an SD Card when it is placed into the onboard slot reader. I can't recall what the fix was last time but know it was working within 2 months ago.

I have tried to uninstall / re-install the Toshiba drivers for it but that doesn't seem to fix it.

I also tried my USB SD Card Adapter but for some Windows 7 wants me to format the card without another option. If I were to do that I assume I'd lose all my pics on the card.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as always.

Sorry to not be much help but I've had a similar problem before. If you do find any info/fix please do post here so that I may try.

I was trying to read an SD card (well, it was actually a microSD card inside an SD card adapter) and windows kept telling me that it needed to be formatted as soon as I would put it in the reader. Good think my ready also has a microSD slot as I took it out of the adapter and it then worked correctly. I've also tried reading a regular SD card and that didn't work either so I don't think its the adapter. Might be the SD card port.
