I think the install fee will eventually get waived. They obviously have a plan, and I'm assuming they want a very slow rollout so they can monitor and manage the load on their own network, plus iron out any bugs that may crop. I had it installed and it took 3 hours. Labor is not cheap either. I think for now a self-install might just be a disaster in the making. On top of that the service is working quite well so far. Since I've had Bell Fibe already, this system is way far superior to what Bell offers at this time. The Netflix integration is nothing short of amazing. I'm still learning new features and nuances that I come across daily.

I have the service too. The set-top is not really a set-top box. It literally fits in the palm of your hand, and as posted above is really fast and responsive. Its also a 4K capable. Channel lineup above ch 100 is completely different than legacy. It appears channels are grouped together by genre, and their is less channel duplication. I've also noticed many more channels are in HD that are not HD on Navigator. It appears their are more multi-cultural channels and more Stingray channels as well. Also, the voice remote is RF based, so line sight is not necessary. You can hide the box if you want.

The PVR function is cloud based. Their is no Hard Drive. It works really well and its fast. You can also Un-Delete programming you've saved or recorded for up to 24 hours. Your recordings can be viewed on multiple devices so Whole-Home PVR is more or less a thing of the past.

Also, just about every Canadian station is available in HD now except the few stragglers that don't provide an HD feed at all. One other thing to note is that Fox News on Ignite Tv is not in HD yet, while it just recently went HD on Navigator.

Channel placement from 2-99 is the same but 100 and above is completely different. Channels are grouped together by genre. I noticed just today that ch73 Game tv is missing completely from the lineup, but I think it might be an oversight. Not sure why.

Everything above CH99 is grouped by genre, and their is less duplication, more HD channels, and more multicultural channels than before. For whatever reason their is no Radio channels at all other than the Stingray channels. The whole setup is a modem with a wireless or wired connection to a 4"x4"x1" 4K streaming box. The PVR function is completely cloud based, and tv channels are IP based.

I find a guide with too many channels listed in the window harder to read. 5 channels listed is fine for me. The mini guide with live video shows more channels. You can use the right arrow to access it, and it has 2 ways of viewing it.

Maybe a future firmware update will fix it. I had one issue myself but not with TV. My internet got really slow one night for a few hours, but it didn't affect the tv service, but its been fine ever since.

The difference with Cloud PVR is that you don't require 8 separate tuners in a set top box. Now, how they do it in the cloud is a different story. Also with Cloud PVR their is no need for any type of Whole Home option, or the need for MOCA.I've already tried stopping the recording on one Xi6 and continuing where I left off on the other Xi6. It marks your spot in the recording and saves it.

Its an all-in-one package of Internet, Home Phone and Tv for a price. The whole system is 1 Docsis 3.1 Modem at the Demarc or wherever else you want it, and Wi-Fi for TV and Internet. You have the option of Hard Wired Ethernet. The modem also handles the Home phone service. There are no splitters or big bulky boxes or Moca. Ignite Tv is 4K, and the system is Voice controlled, or you can use it the old fashioned way.

HD Picture quality is excellent, IMHO better than Bell's PQ, as i've had both services. I've never seen any macroblocking either so far. Some might find the Adaptive Bit Rate feature annoying at first when you change channels, but i've gotten use to it. The service itself overall is terrific, especially with Voice command, and Netflix integration. Its extremely fast and responsive.
