DSR530 no go

I am new to Shaw Direct and had a DSR530 lent to me till I get a newer PVR. Trouble is that it doesn't see a satellite signal. It was in the stream a couple of weeks ago at a different location and was working fine.

I do have a DSR600 in the stream now and it sees the signal on each tuner line that I had on the 530. The 530 probably needs a reboot anyway, but still doesn't explain not getting the signal. Maybe the old StarChoice DSR530 doesn't work a newer 4 line output head or something?

Thanks robman. I guess I'll have to get a hold of Shaw to get it hit and see what happens. Makes sense the the older receivers should work on the newer Kband. Just don't understand why it doesn't see the sat signal when the DSR600 does on both lines in.

It's possible it just needs reactivating - a process that should have been done when putting it on your account.

Either way, call up Shaw Direct and they should be able to help out. Once it's on your account they'll probably have you tune to a specific channel which should work, then they can send a hit to it to get everything else working
