When the CTV app updated on my Android phone a few days ago, I noticed this in the WHAT'S NEW section: "Major expansion of content options, with the addition of live and on demand streaming of Discovery, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, Discovery Velocity and Investigation Discovery".

Discovery channels aren't in the app menu yet, but you can search for a Discovery program and the app will find it. I figured out these links on the web site:
www.ctv.ca/discovery
www.ctv.ca/animal-planet
www.ctv.ca/discovery-science
www.ctv.ca/discovery-velocity
www.ctv.ca/investigation-discovery

Most programs require you sign in with your TV subscription, similar to CTV Sci-Fi, etc., but there are a few free episodes.

Other channels they have added:
Kids - appears to be free
CTV Snackable - formerly SnackableTV - see original press release from 2018.
Much and MTV - looks like you can stream without a subscription.

I just checked this out as I have it on my Samsung TV. Sadly, not a lot of good throw back TV. I was looking for The Fall Guy, The Six Million Dollar Man, Family Ties, Taxi, Night Court, Cheers, Beachcombers, Three's Company, Bob Newhart Show, Simon and Simon, Dukes of Hazzard.... I could go on and on. We need a REAL streaming app like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video that has actually "Throwback TV". Wait... no WKRP in Cincinnati? Oh for Pete sake!! BOOGER!!!!

CTV and City TV will have to get busy and get there steaming apps out there on every device.

If they don't they will lose free streaming customers to Tubi TV which has support for every streaming platform.
If you device connects to the internet , then it has Tubi TV support.

CTV will lose viewers to Tubi TV and the ROKU channel.

CTV's policy of selective app supported devices will be there downfall , either build your app for all devices or get out of public broadcasting.

Selective apps on certain devices, is as popular as forceing every one to get a cable box, just so CTV and CBC can get a few penny's each month from the box.

See post #97 for the probable reason why CTV does not support Roku. They use similar tactics, like not carrying channels, with broadcasters to obtain better terms.

I doubt CTV cares about supporting all devices or losing viewers for not doing it. They'll continue to forge business alliances to support the most profitable devices and obtain exclusive Canadian programming rights to hold viewers captive.
