I am moving to Resolute Bay, Nunavut, which is the second most Northen Community in Canada. I've been told that I may need two dishes in order to get HD and that may not even be a guarantee. Does anyone have any experience with Satellite tv in Canada's great white North??

That Dish looks like a standard 90cm Bell Dish to me.

Guide data is on both birds. I only know this because I have a customer that only gets 82 and he has a guide.

I too am in Nunavut, Kugluktuk to be exact and just got an HDTV recently but haven't made the switch to bell hd yet. Been thinking about it the past month but since no installers way up here wouldn't know what I would all need and what I am getting myself into. A second dish, or the hd dish with 2 lnbf's, switches, etc. Was looking at Starchoice also but don't know how good there programming and hd receivers are. Just have the basic sd 4100 receiver right now and can't remember how big the dish is but it is the plastic? one with the lightning symbol and fairly big size. which holds only one lnbf.

Your dish is probably a 75 or 90cm one.

You would need another 75cm Dish for 82 degrees for the HD Channels, then you can use an SW21 to connect a feed from each Dish to the HD receiver.

Thanks Pinza for the info, and checked my dish it is a 90cm so I will need another 90cm one also with the switch. Now I know what I need to get next time I go south.

And to the original poster, I agree with das75. Make sure you get all that you need before you go up there as the airlines charge alot for shipping freight. I have the 90cm dish and need another 90cm for the other satellite, a sw21 switch so you would only need to run one length of cable into the house. Shouldn't be to different then the setup I need as I am in Nunavut also and coordinates are N67'49'00 W115'08'38. Just a bit lower pointed dish I suppose but not sure how much.

Now to convince the wife we need Bell HD :)
