I found some TV shows are on Youtube in 10 minute clips. All the season's shows are available. How is this not violating copyright laws?

I've seen this with Disney Shows and was very surprised they were on Youtube.

Obviously copyright laws are in place to protect the owner(s) of the work, and the distributors dishing out the content. But sometimes seeing one's work if it's credited can't be that bad. I mean, exposure at any level for a band that is starting out is always good, and even mainstream shows can't be too hurt from being shown on sites like Youtube. But I guess the advertisers still would like their ways. But having said that, the mainstream networks have put up clips of their shows on popular streaming site, many times without ads.
