Hi guys, new to the forum!
I have a Yamaha HTR-6295 receiver connected to a Panasonic Blu Ray player and a Panasonic Plasma TV. I watched a blu-ray movie on it a couple of days ago and everything worked fine. Tried playing a normal DVD in the player yesterday and was getting only sound so I tried a blu ray player and was getting only sound as well. Then I plugged the HDMI cable from the player directly to the TV and I was getting picture and sound through the TV speakers. I've turned the "Viera Link" off on both the TV and the Blu ray player but still get only sound.
Any ideas on what may be going on? Thanks!

There's a "HDMI OUT" button on the remote. When you cycle through it, the options are:

HDMI OUT OFF
HDMI OUT 1
HDMI OUT 2
HDMI OUT 1 + 2

You might have accidently hit it.

I have no experience with Yammys but if HDMI OUT was Off why isn't audio affected? Is there a separate connection for audio at work here?

Probably because the TV speakers were turned off and the only sound heard were through the speakers connected to the receiver. HDMI out was used for video only.
