Just got my renewal, and it's a whopping $180 for a year!!WTF? My last year was $77 .. i can justify that, but not $180... (the two and three year plans are also way over the top!)..

Anyone know of any promos or am i SOL?

The only deal? that i was sent was if I upgrade to a 2 year plan they would cover the royalty fee for the 2 years and throw in XM online for free.

The cost was $329.78 plus tax.

I just had the same experience, last year $77 and this year full price. I called to cancel and they offered $129 which I declined.

I just renewed, at regular price. Although I like discounts when I can get them, I believe this to be an excellent service for the $, and I have no problems when renewal for my three subs comes up each year.

I have no problem paying for XM either. Terrestrial radio is terrible around here and I have no desire to get an iPod.

I renewed for a year in August, 180.00 plus the taxes,and the CRTC special Tax.
I probably will let this subsciption lapse now, as I am tired of the , repitious playlists, and the non Customer service from XM Canada.

Terrestrial radio is bad in the mountains, where I live, but after 4 years of satellite, and the associated problems, with recievers,and power supplies,getting XM antennas, stolen off my truck, I have just about had it.

I only hope that they come up with some better ideas, better recievers,and modify the playlists,so new material is added.The country stations are bad for repitious playlists.Willy,s place and the Roadhouse are the worst.

I still enjoy the news stations, and the BBC, gives a comprehensive view of world affairs.

This is really an odd comment to make, especially given the two posts that follow my comment.

If I can get a cheaper deal, I'll take it. My point is that SXM is a service that I think is good money for the product, so I'm willing to pay full price because I value the product. If you can get a cheaper deal, go for it.

I also fully disagree, I find the value to be very good for satellite radio, the daily cost is under a dollar a day. I don't have an MP3 player nor do I want to get one and make playlists.
