I can access internet through this router fine, but after I installed the Linksys firmware from previous DDWRT, the web interface is broken, on Google Chrome and Firefox. If I try TFTPing like in the DDWRT Wiki, it just says "access denied" or "invalid pattern". I can't try to install the DDWRT firmware back since I can't TFTP for some reason.

It looks like a Java issue. I've seen similar screens when NoScript was blocking Java. iPods don't support Java so that's a given for that platform.

From my point of view, it's seems like bad firmware. Either it's corrupted, or it's the wrong firmware for your WRT54G. However, never having used a WRT wireless gateway, I can't help with it :(

Check the DD-WRT FAQ and/or specific software page for "unbricking" the router. That usually works. Unless there is a real need for restoring the original software, I would leave DD-WRT on the router.
