Synopsis: The women of the Mennonite colony have very little time before the men return to decide whether to remain in subjugation, to stand and fight, or to leave and be free.

Comments: A movie based on a novel that was inspired by real events is often a recipe for disaster. But in this case the result was a low-key, steady-paced and enthralling drama driven by thoughtful dialogue and strong performances from all the leads.
