AM! It never occured to me! Speaking of faint voices, that reminds of a prank we played in residence. We tapped into my room mates speakers and the guys next door would whisper single words once in a while in a deep voice into a mic. It was low enough that you could think it was in the hall but directed enough that he started to get the creeps.
It got to the point where he figured the sounds were coming from his speakers so he pulled the power plug in the system. He just about fainted as he held the end of the AC cable in his hand and the speakers spoke his name.
