Wind Mobile has announced a new partnership with Telus that will give new and existing Wind customers better service than ever before outside of Wind’s ‘Unlimited’ zone in Canada.

The agreement provides Wind customers with access to Telus’ mobile network at no extra charge. According to Wind, the deal has increased their coverage area by 14 per cent nationwide, covering 1.2 million square kilometres and reaching 97 per cent of the Canadian population.

This year, the company also rolled out some new initiatives:
  • Unlimited U.S. roaming: unlimited talk, text and data while travelling in the U.S. for $15 a month
  • Improved roaming service in Canada – launching 4G data speeds and a reduced pay-per-use rate; lowering roaming costs by up to 95 per cent
  • The Cross-Canada plan for $44/month – offers users unlimited talk, text and data with an additional $10 service credit that can be used towards monthly add-ons or roaming fees

“… At Wind, we are dedicated to improving our customers’ experience across Canada and the U.S. – providing them with the freedom to use their phone when they travel,” said Mirko Rugarli, Chief Marketing Officer, Wind Mobile. “We’ve also been listening to customer feedback and have continued to extend our Unlimited footprint, most recently adding Brantford, with even more aggressive plans for expansion planned for the coming year.”
