Hi

I have shawdirect system and have split a line that runs to one of my tv's to get reception in my garage. It is a very long run of cable and the picture does not seem that great.

In system status it shows signal strength of 48 and signal quality of 94.

Would an in-line signal booster help?

Thanks alot!

use a cable straight from one of the ports of your lnb on the dish
if all ports are in use
use a powered mutiswitch in your house and run a cable from there to your garage
powered multiswitches boost the signal

I ran a test cable 330+ feet from the dish to the reciever with minimal impact to signal strength numbers. (less than 2% => Remember no splices!)

But if you've split the signal you should reconfigure. Are you using an elliptical dish and a Quad LNB? How many tuners ( recievers) do you have.
