Citing ongoing manufacturing issues, Apple has announced a further delay of the white version of the iPhone 4, this time until Spring 2011.

At this point I wonder if they should maybe give up. Spring 2011 will likely be just prior to the announcement of the yearly iPhone refresh.

According to BGR they may have canceled it completely.

Interesting that I've now read a few times that it's not necessarily manufacturing issues anymore. Lots of conspiracy theories in there, could Apple be holding back a white iPhone 4 to launch on other carriers? Or maybe, when/if they do launch on other carriers, they simultaneously launch the white model as an AT&T exclusive in order to pacify AT&T. This is, of course, completely baseless speculation.

I actually bought the white back just on a lark - haven't had a chance to swap it in yet to see how I like it.
