My relatives are on the Aurora Side Road, a couple of concessions before Hwy 48, and can't get Bell DSL on their line.

Evidently this area is a big black hole, part of the digital divide. Anyone know if there are any broadband wireless options for them?

Thanks!

Try the Rogers WiiMax Portable Internet with the External Modem. The service is almost exactly the same as teh Bell WiiMax offering but without most of the constraints, ie;

Rogers, $250 for the Modem, you have 30 days to ship it back if it does not work for a full refund. Month to month billing, no contract. Self Install. (Very easy, honest)

Bell, cannot buy the Modem, cost is added to the monthly charge, 2 year Contract and I believe it has to be installed by Bell, at a cost of $125, or at least that was the price when I looked into it.

Another option is Zing Networks out of King City, used to be a small 1 man operation and was great and very reliable but as he grew, so did his staff and not all were as friendly as the owner, still it might be an option. Not as fast as Wiimax but still.
