Hello, we are looking to give my parents a new TV for Xmas. They have basic cable and I am affraid that any of the new TV providing either 720p or 1080p will not look good on regular cable.
I am looking at a 40inch at approx $600-$700 price range LCD (not plasma) because it will be place between 2 windows. It has to be simple to use and will be used to watch only cable TV.
Their current 26in tube TV is old and have colors that are fading...
My father loves watching hockey and I know from my experience that I was disappointed when I got my 46in TV and watched hockey on RDS and TSN on shawdirect which I think his a lot better than the regional cable that my father has. Obviously, when I went to HD after, there was no turning back...
Any advice? Will I get a better looking picture with a 720p only TV on regular cable?
Thanks
