So I recently bought a used 4k pvr privately. Had it transferred to my account, everything mostly seems to be working.

I say mostly because the weird thing is that the front led display that shows the time has a dim digit in the display. IE, if the time is 4:21, the 2 is noticeably dimmer than the 4 and 1. The same behaviour happens regardless if the display is set to low, medium, or high brightness. All the digits get brighter, but the one is still dimmer than the others.

Thoughts? Is this likely to become a major problem, or just remain cosmetic?

Just following up (not that anyone seems to care about this board any more), but I haven't had any problems over the last few months. It's still dimmer than the other digits, though I think it's slightly brighter than it was at the beginning. The difference seems less noticeable.

As you figured out it is only for display and should not affect the storage or playback. Dim is better than blank. I've a few devices (clock radios, weather monitor etc) that failed and the LCD would display something like `| 3 :'1. :)
