Just a WARNING to those excited about the new Apple products and who order them from the Apple store online.

They offer you Free Engraving if you order the iPods online, but they don't tell you that they change the return agreement if you take them up on it.

That is, THERE ARE NO RETURNS ON ENGRAVED ITEMS. This fact is very hard to find and buried in their return policy and referred to as 'personalized items'.

I'm not sure this is legal, but they enforce it anyway.

To be honest, I don't blame them for not wanting engraved items back, but I would have expected them to require clicking a check box which says "I understand that I am asking for engraving and that means the agreement is different ...." etc.

Currently they hide this fact very well.

I don't know if engraving changes the warranty.... I certainly hope not.

The same applied to my Google Nexus One, although that info wasn't hidden. Generally, custom items are not returnable, unless defective. It doesn't just apply to phones. Why would it affect the warranty?
