My guess is a VGA cable!

You'll need an additional cable for audio.

Most HDTVs don't have a VGA input though and VGA is not the same as component video. You'd need a transcoder - not cheap. Here's an older thread on the topic:

What is the make/model of the TV that has a VGA input? If it does have one, then obviously all you'd need is the appropriate cable as mentioned by cooper83 and the appropriate settings for the TV in the laptop setup for an external monitor.

All my TVs have VGA but they are almost 2-3 years old.

I can totally see manufacturers skimp out and put out no more VGA ports.

Back in the days when HDMI handshake was bigger issue, the VGA port could really save the day. Same thing if you have older equipment on hand.
