Looking to piggy back this discussion
I bought this:

Didn't work. It's not compatible with my 1080i Panny Plasma HDTV. I just want to watch what's on my laptop on my TV preferably with a VGA to Component converter but a VGA to HDMI would do. The only video output on my hp mini laptop is VGA. There is no VGA input on my tv. I've been looking at other converter models but don't want to again buy something, pay for the shipping, for something that isn't compatible. If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated.
