Vancouver radio station CFMI-FM announced this week that Mike Reno of Loverboy will co-host The Brother Jake Show with Jake Edwards beginning Tuesday, January 4, 2011.

The 54 year old Reno, who was born in New Westminster, British Columbia is the drummer and lead singer of Loverboy. At the 2009 Juno Awards Reno and Loverboy were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Reno says that he and the band will continue to perform across North America throughout the year.

Bro Jake's cohort/sidekick Martin Strong was released from Rock 101, but I'm not sure if that resulted in this announcement or was due to it.

Just an FYI that while Reno does in fact play drums, he's never played drums for Loverboy. He's strictly their lead singer.
