Hi All,

Haven't been able to get a clear understanding on using an IR Repeater with a (Gateway) Portal, hopefully someone can chime in with their experience.

My Portal has an awkward placement which makes it a royal pain to change channels when sitting on one side of the room. I was hoping something simple like this device from Monoprice (7537) would do the trick. Does anyone have any feedback/input/advice on using a product like this?

Given the affordable price, I'd say you don't have much to lose if it doesn't work. The receiver eye is supposed to be immediately after the 'S' in 'ARRIS' on the front of the Portal. If you decide to take a chance, please let us know if it works for you.
