I want to upgrade from the standard receiver to HD, but I don't want the bell guy to do it. I had the service installed a year ago, so everything is new.
I only have one receiver.
Do I need to do anything with the dish/LNB/switch?

Thanks

If it was only a year ago, you should have the std 20" Dish that will take a second LNBF.

Ensure the Dish is already Skewed, then add the second LNBF and a short jumper from each LNBF, into an SW21, run the existing line to the output of the SW21.

Run a Check Switch, Activate the HD Receiver and watch TV.

I currently have a "SW-2140-CE+" switch installed in my basement where the two lines from the dish enter the house and get split from the different receivers. Do I need the SW21 switch too?

In your original post you said;

I only have one receiver.
Hence my reply.

Now you state;

get split from the different receivers
Now I suggest you run 2 more lines from a second LNBF and install an SW44.
