If you want to follow Canadian current affairs on-the-go, it's now even easier.
Viewers have been able to find The Agenda with Steve Paikin, TV Ontario’s nightly current affairs program,on TVO’s website for some time now.
But for those who love to have options, a new one has arrived. Watchers can now find the program that covers contemporary social, political, cultural and economic issues affecting Canadians, on Twitter. Good news.
Starting today, viewers can catch The Agenda being broadcast live Monday through Friday at 8pm ET on Twitter’s live video streaming app, Periscope.
And if you like to stay within Twitter itself, viewers can also watch the show on The Agenda’s account, @TheAgenda .
A Canadian First with Twitter
But this isn't just about The Agenda. It's a trailblazing move for Canadians. The deal marks the first Twitter has ever made with a Canadian media organization, and is sure to open the door to additional broadcasts.
Which is great. Canadians have so far been on the sidelines, and able to watch American content broadcast live on Twitter, but not to contribute.
That’s now changed, and we are now officially on the blue bird’s map.
How does TVO feel about it? John Ferri, TVO’s vice president of current affairs and documentaries, weighed in.
“TVO’s aim has always been to provide something you can’t get anywhere else,” Ferri released in a statement.
“More than ever.... We have to be where audiences are, and we’re grateful to explore this opportunity with Twitter.”
Viewers can watch The Agenda broadcast weeknights at 8pm and 11pm on TVO.
In addition to finding it on Twitter, you can also watch via video podcast at iTunes , on TVO’s website and on YouTube.
