"Set Parental Control Pin" screen stuck on component setting on Samsung 42" Plasma hooked up to Cogeco cable. I suspect this might be something to do with the cable box? No idea... nothing happens when we try to enter the 4 digit code, pops up "not available". There's no picture, just this screen but there is sound from whatever channel it's meant to be on. Any thoughts? Samsung didn't have a clue.

Try unplugging the Cable STB for a minute and plugging it back in (wait a half hour for it to reboot and download the IPG). Also unplug and replug the TV in the meantime. If you still have a problem, give us more information - makes/models of STB, TV, connections used, any AVR involved, etc?

If you could check something for me... With the box powered Off (but TV on), press the Select/OK button on the remote. After a few seconds, a diagnostic menu should pop up. Scroll to "App Code Modules" and select it. Are any errors listed? If so, make a note of them and post them here please (or take a picture of the screen if that's easier).

After, call Cogeco tech support and they'll reset your box.

Every time I've seen this happen is when Cogeco pushes out a firmware update to boxes already running a newer version. It causes the box to become completely unusable, safe for the Parental Control pin screen.
