Bell Media has announced that, effective Wednesday October 5th, radio station The Team 990 in Montreal will be rebranded as TSN Radio 990 while Sports Radio 1290 in Winnipeg will be renamed TSN Radio 1290.

The rebranding comes six months after Bell launched TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto.

The telecommunications giant says that both TSN stations will continue to feature extensive live NHL hockey coverage with TSN Radio 990 being the official broadcaster of the Montreal Canadiens and TSN Radio 1290 the home of the Winnipeg Jets.

In addition to its local sports coverage, TSN Radio 990 and TSN Radio 1290 will leverage TSN's bureaus in Montreal and Winnipeg along with TSN's regional television packages for the Canadiens and Jets games. The two radio stations will also utilize TSN's roster of sports broadcasters, experts, analysts and Insiders.

In addition to being the home of the Montreal Canadiens and the Montreal Impact, TSN Radio 990 in Montreal carries coverage of the NFL, MLB, NASCAR and some NHL playoffs. The station also carries some ESPN Radio programming.

In Winnipeg, Sports Radio 1290 is expected to focus on sporting news coming out of Manitoba with an emphasis on the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Goldeyes.
