hello,
I have a Toshiba 20HL67 LCD TV that I am using as my PC monitor also.
My problem is that W7 only recognizes it as a generic non-plug and play monitor. I used to be able to nudge the computer to recognize it properly by putting ti into sleep mode, then come back out and it would refresh itself and then the resolution would change to 1366x768 and it would list the monitor detected as Toshiba 20HL67. I have looked for new drivers from Toshiba but nothing. Anyone have any ideas?
thanks

If you have Intel graphics, you can modify the one of INF files in the driver package to force that resolution, but with the side effect the associated apps are no longer signed. I am not sure about other graphics cards.

Another thing to make sure is you have a full 15 pin VGA cable, if you are using VGA. It will have the DDC lines which feed monitor specs to the graphics driver.
DVI/HDMI cables have DDC lines by default.

thanks for the reply.
Would you have anymore details on which INF file to modify and how I could do that?
Yup, I checked the cable and it is a full 15 pin VGA.
When it is running in 1366X768 resolution everything looks great.
thanks
