For those of you who are up in the wee hours of the morning and enjoy gossip/entertainment show TMZ, CTV has begin carrying it in HD.

CTVTO and FOX Seattle are both don't say HD in the I-Guide for Shaw in Thunder Bay.

I have set both to record to see if it is HD or not.

I saw it on WNLO Buffalo via OTA. It's been on since Monday.

I see it on at 1:07am tonight on CTV HD, so I have set the PVR. Doesn't specify "HD" in the show description, however.

With all the continuous shaky camera angles and continuous camera-flash scenes that are typical of TMZ, it must be macro-block mania to show it in HD. Let's see how CTV's recent reduced broadcast bitrate handles it. BTW, looks like CTV has more recently increased its broadcast bitrate back towards the original 17Mbps from its lowest of 13.8Mbps when it first reduced it a few months ago. Next, when is etalk going to go HD?

CTVHD Toronto is in HD
FOXHD Seattle was not in HD

Just checked my recording and I can confirm that the late night CTV TMZ is HD. The viewer warning at the start made laugh...

Funny thing is WNLO airs it at 10:30pm with no warning.

Guess CTV is run by a bunch of prude old ladies.

Macro-blocking wasn't too bad with the usual shaky camera shots in the studio on CTV. There wasn't any continuous camera-flashing scenes last nite to judge macro-blocking on. We'll see...

Oh I was referring to a warning lable being added to it at 1am when US stations are showing it as early as 7pm with no warnings.

Not in HD on Fox west today. It airs there, but is still the 4:3 SD feed.
