I am thinking its time to upgrade my HT receiver. My current receiver still functions fine but its getting a little long in the tooth decoder wise.

I have an old Technics SA-DX950 set up 5.1. Current speakers are Cerwin Vega front, center, surround, and active sub. Power wise it is sufficient to my needs. Input and switching wise, not so much. Part of my goal is to increase the WAF for being able to switch AV sources and listen to music. (Read: press that button dear...)

I only have three external sources to connect.
Telus PVR - HDMI, Component Video, Optical SPDIF.
Asus O!Play- HDMI, RCA Coax Video, Optical SPDIF
Squeezebox 3-Optical SPDIF, Coax Digital Audio

I would like to have Dolby True HD, DTS HD, HDMI Switching, minimum 2 optical SPDIF inputs, and phono input.

Any suggestions?

There's lots of suggestions out there. But what are your limits starting with probably the most important, the price range you want to stay in?

Yamaha

Actually I was looking at the RX-V version of the same receiver. Looks like a nice unit.
Anybody know if the HDMI Video is left untouched by this receiver? I would like to set up so source switching is done on one component if possible.

Any other candidates?
