Another poor week for Blu-ray disc lovers so there is little for Digital Home to recommend on the new release list.

The most notable and likely to be this week’s best seller on Blu-ray is “Shutter Island,” mystery thriller film directed by Martin Scorsese. The film is based on Dennis Lehane's 2003 novel of the same name.

The film takes in 1954 when U.S. Marshal Edward "Teddy" Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), go to the Ashecliff Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of Rachel Solando, a patient said to have vanished from a locked room. Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley), the head psychiatrist, explains that Rachel was institutionalized after drowning her three children.

Critics were generally positive about Shutter Island and the film was number one at the box office for five weeks. The consensus for the film was that it was not Scorsese's best it still managed some good horror thrills.

Other films to consider this week on Blu-ray include "Caddyshack," the classic 1980 comedy directed by Harold Ramis and starring Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Michael O'Keefe and Bill Murray; and "Y Tu Mama Tambien," a coming-of-age story about two teenage boys taking a road trip with a woman in her late twenties which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2001 Golden Globe Awards.
