Hi ... I looked at my Rogers guide , the index and it doesn't mention how to reboot . Could you explain in how that done ? I don't do anything with this box beside just turning it on and off , also changing channels , thats it . Thanks

Everything is good now ... don't have kids , they are nasty lol

Oh yeah .. I have no need to record ... If I had it my way I wouldn't allow them to switch to HD signals . I liked the way it was from old , there was nothing wrong with the old ways , simple and easy . Some old folks like things simple and easy ... TVs nowadays you need a degree just to learn how to use one .

Did you purchase the 8642? Are you renting for $25/mo or did you get it for "free" somehow. Seems odd to have a PVR if you never record.

My father is 91 and he uses his PVR to record all the time. He doesn't have any time to waste watching commercials. ;)

I bought it though I did look around at futureshop and bestbuy but they wanted at that time for the cheapest box was 299.00 . I bought this box online from a computer store in Ottawa for 199 pulse tax , free delivery . Whether it was worth it or not ? I don't know .

Definitely worth it. You got a good deal. You may wish to consider learning how to record with it - it's pretty easy - you go into the IPG, scroll to the programme you wish to record, select, then confirm the recording and that's about it. There are options of whether you wish to record once or all episodes.

You can practise with some recordings that don't matter too much to you.
