Fitbit has announced the arrival of Fitbit Charge 2™ . The new fitness wristband has already been ranked the #1 best-selling device under multiple categories on Amazon.com, including Fitness & Activity Monitors and Heart Rate Monitors.

The Charge 2 is said to build on Charge HR’s classic features while adding new health and fitness capabilities for users.

Here are some of the highlights:
  • PurePulse wrist-based heart rate tracking helps users optimize workouts, track all-day calorie burn, with continuous tracking day and night.
  • Cardio fitness level provides users with a snapshot of how fit they are with a personalized view of their cardio fitness. Based on estimated VO2 Max – calculated by using a user’s profile, heart rate and exercise data – users can measure their fitness level against others of the same age and gender.
  • Relax guided breathing sessions helps calm the body and mind through two- and five-minute sessions personalized to a user’s breathing rate.
  • Multi-sport modes helps users track over 17 specific workouts like runs, bike rides, weights, yoga and more, showing actionable, real-time exercise stats.
  • Connected GPS links a user’s device with the GPS in a smartphone to provide more precise real-time stats like pace and distance.
  • Interval workout mode guides users in alternating periods of high-intensity exercise and recovery to maximize workouts like circuit training.
  • SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition automatically tracks select exercises like walks, runs, bike rides, treadmill exercise, sports, and aerobic workouts, recording them in the Fitbit app.
  • Automatic sleep tracking tracks the length and quality of a user’s sleep.
  • Long battery life of up to 5 days on a single charge.
  • Broad compatibility of the Fitbit app with more than 200 Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices.
