i find it rather funny that with all the bickering in here about having that channel, nobody likes it anyway.

Bloomberg is similar to CNBC. in fact, CNBC is better and for this reason i don't see the rush to add bloomberg. however, it would have been nice to FINALLY have MSNBC and fox news added together. i guess the strong demand for fox news is the reason why they added it first.lprice99 said:BEV still doesn't carry MSNBC and Bloomberg Television. It would have made more sense for BEV to carry these two news channels at the same time Fox News was added to BEV's channel lineup.
That right as Bill O'Rielly says "Don't let the facts stand in your way of a good story"james99 said:More left-wing bias against Fox. Will it ever stop? I guess when you are #1 by such a large margin for such a long time the jealousy surfaces.
The link that's provided leads to a news article on the American Idol scandal reported by MSNBC. Bill O'Reilly already covered this story on the O'Reilly factor. His program didn't shy away from it or pretend it doesn't exist even though American Idol airs on Fox.987654321 said:That right as Bill O'Rielly says "Don't let the facts stand in your way of a good story"
Here's another Fox story you won't see on Expressvu

That is the point that the other poster was making about Faux News. yes, Newt Grinch's office apologized for the misstake - but Sean Hannity or Faux News never reported the correction. They let the misquote stand even after they were notified.lprice99 said:Newt Gingrich agreed and apologized for the error.
Maybe the 9/11 terrorists didn't cross from canada but other al-qaida terrorists, like ahmed ressam, the so-called millenium bomber, did. let's face it canada has very weak security and not just at the border with the states. the intelligence services and the military in this country are a joke, both are underfunded and have no clue on how to fight and prevent terrorism. airport security in this country is a joke. as such, we have become a safe haven for terrorists. we are weak in security and so are the americans. despite all the money and reforms they're throwing at it they're still very vulnerable to terrorism.987654321 said:Faux Views is entertainment. Just don't take it as news.

What makes Fox News a joke is not their point of view, (everybody will have their own slant) is that when they or a guest misstate the facts; they never correct or retract their error. And that's why the channel is more accurately described as Faux Views.
I also thought I would appreciate this station a little more but it is not what I expected. I am not a CNN fan - for that matter - not a news fan altogehter.mac dude said:I guess it's good that we have more "News" selection now with Fox News... but I just tuned in for 20 minutes to the "Sunday Recap" which gives a flavour of all of their shows.
I guess I'm more liberal than I thought... I find the station not to my liking. To each their own, I don't have to watch it. I am glad that it's there for those folks who do want it though. Good to see that Bell is doing what they can for their customers .... with what seems like near -full capacity on the birds.
Before this thread gets completely hijacked, first off, that is a discussion for another thread. Secondly, there are people who would lose. TMN and MC pay for the rights to stuff on HBO. They would lose.christianeric said:nobody has anything to lose.
We don't control security for people entering the US. If a terrorist entered the US from Canada, that is the fault of US border security, not Canada's.powerstream said:let's face it canada has very weak security and not just at the border with the states
Perhaps you haven't heard, but Star Choice has a new Digital Favourites package for $43.99. The channel list is on their website, and packs a lot of punch. Check it out.mac dude said:I love my Expressvu. I'll be honest. The only 2 channels I want that (but neither offered in Canada) are HBO and VH1. My experience with Expressvu (over standard cable) is much better. For $5 or $7 more than my cable bill was, I get a whack of channels that I couldn't get without Digital Cable. If I were to get the same thing as I have on Starchoice or Rogers it would have been about $20-$30 more - and I would have more stations - more stations that I don't want to watch.
Most HBO stuff I need I can get on other channels in the bell lineup. For me, expressvu does everything very well, and it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg like it would with Rogers and StarChoice. My bill wasn't right at first, but two pleasant CSR's fixed it very quickly.
I am happy when they announce new channels, but to me, these channels are not as important as what I've already got. Fox news will be interesting I hear....
In regards to the capacity issues - my only hope is that we won't have to install another dish if programming gets put on a 3rd satellite system.
