Last month in New York City, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the company's new Windows Phone 7 operating system. The new OS is Microsoftss latest attempt to challenge mobile operating systems from Apple, Google, Nokia, and Research in Motion (RIM).

Today, Telus announced today that it will being selling two smartphones based on the Windows Phone 7 OS in Canada beginning November 8th.

The HTC 7 Surround and the LG Optimus 7 will both be available for $99 on a three year voice and data contract.
