Teksavvy, a popular third party internet access (TPIA) provider in Ontario, has recently introduced a new residential Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service called TekTalk.

Designed to compete with the likes of Vonage Canada, Skype, Primus Talkbroadband and Rogers Digital Phone, Teksavvy offers three levels of VoIP service: Basic, Premium and Unlimited.
  • Basic- includes unlimited local calling, basic 911 and free calls between TekTalk customers. Price $9.95 per month.
  • Premium- includes basic service plus 100 minutes North America Long Distance, access to a online portal for managing your service, and the following features: Caller ID, Advanced Voice Mail, Visual Call Waiting and Three-Way Calling. Price $14.95 per month.
  • Unlimited- includes what’s found in the Premium plan plus unlimited long distance in North America. Price is $24.95 per month.

In order to the use the service, new customers will need to purchase a Linksys 2102 VoIP Gateway Phone Adapter for $69.99 plus $10 shipping.

For readers who are interested in replacing their Bell landline service, Teksavvy also provides POTS service starting from $21.48 a month plus activation and any installation fees.
