Montreal’s CKGM, better known as Team 990, announced today that it has chosen John Bartlett to be the voice of the Montreal Canadiens. Bartlett will call play-by-play for the station's full slate of games.

Back in June, the station became the voice of the Montreal Canadiens with exclusive English radio broadcast rights to all of the team's games over the next seven seasons.

Bartlett has a wide range of radio and television broadcasting experience. A former junior "A" goaltender, Bartlett spent the past six years as the broadcaster for the Toronto Marlies, the Toronto Maple Leafs AHL affiliate.

In 2007, Bartlett received the James H. Ellery Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding media coverage of the American Hockey League. Prior to working with the Marlies, Bartlett was the voice of the Barrie Colts of the OHL for five seasons. John has also been a regular host on Leafs TV, and has made regular appearances on TSN's Off the Record with Michael Landsberg.

Born in Kingston and raised in Newmarket, Bartlett says he is a lifelong Canadiens fan.
