Swords: Life on the Line returns for a second season on Discovery World HD this Wednesday February 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

The ten part documentary unveils the life of New England’s long line fishermen who potentially risk their lives battling violent storms around the Grand Banks of Newfoundland and off the Georges Bank of the Gulf of Mexico while attempting to catch Swordfish that can weigh more than 450 kilograms.

This season, the series once again follows four boats, The Eagle Eye II, Big Eye, Seahawk and Frances Ann, that head into these stormy waters hoping to hit the jackpot. It costs around $60,000 to make the month-long journey and the fishermen need to catch thousands of kilograms of fish just to break even. One big catch, however, can be worth as much as $20,000 so a trip can turn from loss to profits in a matter of minutes.
