This spring, Rogers and the streaming music service Spotify will unite to give Fido customers a free 24-month subscription to Spotify Premium.

Details are yet to be determined, but it is likely that the offer will come with new contracts signed when Fido launches their rebranding in April, expected to target a younger demographic. According to the CMO Council, more than half of Canadians between the ages of 18 and 34 regularly stream music to their mobile devices.

Spotify, which is normally free for listeners who wish to stream only, has their Premium package running at $9.99 CAD a month. Spotify Premium allows customers to download unlimited, ad-free music to be used for offline listening on any mobile, tablet or computer, in addition to providing regular music streaming services.

Listeners can browse Spotify’s streaming library of over 30 million songs, or choose from pre-made playlists created by mood or genre.

Spotify, a Swedish startup launched in October of 2008, has grown to 15 million paid users as of January 2015.
