I just got Optik, but if Telus doesn't get it in the next two weeks I'll be switching back to Shaw!

I called Telus and they don't think they will be getting it...WTF?!

Anyone know anything differently, now that Shaw's got it?

I talked to TELUS to cancel Superchannel today and asked about Sportsnet One. She told me that it was still in negotiations and should be ready very soon.
Edmonton will get all-sports cable channel

Shaw, Telus, strike deal for Sportsnet One

EDMONTON — In time for NHL hockey — and Edmonton Oilers’ fans — Shaw Communications and Telus have announced viewers will be able to watch Sportsnet One.

The Calgary-based cable provider Shaw says it is the first to offer the new all-sports channel in Western Canada on Shaw Cable; and Shaw Direct is currently the only provider to offer the channel nationally.

A deal to carry the channel by Telus is being finalized, but until then customers will be able to preview the channel, said spokesman Jim Johannsson.

“We’re just days away from offering Sportsnet One on a free preview basis,” Johannsson said.

On Telus, it will be available on standard definition on channel 106 and 677 in high definition.

There will be a national feed, a Pacific feed available only in B.C. and Oilers and Flames feeds available in Alberta only.

Pricing is still to be determined.

“For the initial preview, it will be added to an existing theme pack at no extra charge. The caveat is our customer already has to subscribe to that theme pack,” he said.
