I hesitate to post this as I don't really want to see another thread mired in complaints over the lack of WWE VOD availability on a certain cable provider, but here goes... lord help me...

Spike TV Ends Talks With the WWE

NEW YORK, March 10 -- Spike TV ends talks with the WWE.

"After several months of negotiations, we have decided to end our discussions about extending our relationship with the WWE beyond September 2005. Moving forward, Spike TV will expand its investments in original programming and new acquisitions for its core audience."

TSN already has the programming rights to broadcast "WWE RAW" so this won't affect Canadian wrestling fans in relation to that show.

The secondary WWE shows like "Heat" and "Velocity" which air on Spike TV during the weekend are not carried by any other existing Canadian channels and will become unavailable for Canadian wrestling fans to watch once Spike TV drops WWE programming from its schedule. Canadian channels such as Sportsnet and TSN will have to purchase the rights to the aforementioned secondary WWE programs or else Canadian wrestling fans will be unable to watch them in Canada.

from wrestlingnewsworld.com

As we noted the other day here on the site, Linda and Shane McMahon were spotted at NBC Universal offices in Rockefeller Center several days ago. We have been told that a deal is done and locked with the USA network. Everything has apparently been worked out and an announcement should be expected soon.
