How come NHL Network is still listed in the guide on Rogers?? I also saw somewhere that Source wasn't getting Disney at this time due to technical reasons. But it would come later.

The following was added yesterday

149 Disney Channel
152 Disney Channel HD

To echo what Dr.Dave posted, Rogers owns two systems in Hamilton; the former Mountain Cable system (previously owned by Shaw) and Source Cable. The former Mountain Cable system is now doing business as Rogers Cable while Source Cable continues to operate under the Source Cable name. Rogers plans to migrate Source Cable over to Rogers in the spring of 2016. Even after the transition the Source Cable system will still have a different channel line-up than the Rogers Hamilton system.

The Source Cable plant is build much better than the former Mountain Cable system and was already interconnected to Rogers for delivery of many of the HD channels that they carry. Source Cable also has less customers per node than the former Mountain Cable system which means they don't have to allocate up as much spectrum for VOD and Data Services. The technical issues that the former Mountain Cable system has is mostly the fault of their previous owner; Shaw Cable as they tend to not build their cable networks as well as other providers. Unfortunately Rogers seems to be slow at upgrading Hamilton to match the product line of other Ontario markets.

Source Cable is changing all of the current Internet packages to mirror what Rogers offers on all of their main systems. The only difference being that all packages will remain unlimited usage and the 1GB speed is still not available. Customers currently on an old Source Cable plan will be migrated to the closest price "Rogers" plan effective May 1st. Any new customers are now subject to the new "Rogers" plans effective April 1st.

Also the migration to Rogers Cable will not occur until at least Q1 or Q2 of 2017.

Source Cable is digital only so they have enough bandwidth to carry all of the recent additions. As far as I can tell, they are not using SDV. Neither is the Rogers Hamilton system. The main difference between the two systems is the Source Cable system has less customers per node so they don't need to allocate as much spectrum for data and on-demand services as the Rogers Hamilton system. Also Rogers Hamilton may still have analog basic cable but I'm not entirely sure.

I see Rogers and Source Cable trucks all over Hamilton mountain installing new infrastructure so it's very likely both systems will be SDV by next year. I'm assuming the delay in switching to Rogers is to allow more time for the former Shaw system to be upgraded to handle all the services currently available on the Source Cable system.

Will the Rogers services for both North and South Mountain eventually be unified? And has there been any recent updates to Source lately?
