There are a couple of reasons that this phone launch is an exciting one. First, the phone is exclusively available at the Sony Store, where you can buy it outright or on a contract through Rogers. Second, this phone ties into the Sony Entertainment Network, including the Sony Music Unlimited service we wrote about last month. Finally, this is the first post Ericsson era device Sony has released.

While we won't dive into a full review of the device, what we will say is that it is a big step in the right direction for Sony Mobile. The 12.1 megapixel camera takes amazing pictures, and the included HDMI port (and cable) make sharing pictures, videos, and any of your Google Play or Sony Entertainment media easy.

As time goes on and we get more time spent with the connectivity between the new era of Sony devices, we will be sure to expand on the home and on the go experience Sony is trying to build. In the meantime, here are the specs for the Sony Xperia S:
