Sony will take advantage of the lucrative holiday shopping season by launching the new PlayStation 4 console in North America on November 15.
Andrew House, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, made the announcement at Gamescom 2013 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, adding that European and Latin American stores will be getting shipments by November 29th.
House noted that 1 million consoles, which are priced at $399 USD, were already on pre-order worldwide.
Among the 33 titles that will be available by Christmas 2013 for PS4 are: NBA 2K14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Skylanders Swap Force, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4, Madden 25, FIFA 14 and NBA Live.
To add to the good news, Sony says PlayStation Vita devices will now drop to $199 in the US and Canada and €199 (£170) in Europe.
