Hi Folks, If the CRTC lets this merger go ahead, what is your best guess about the new service?

I have had XM since 2006, and have had issues with the reception, the radios, and the power supplies. We live in the mountains in BC , so Satellite is really our only option out here.

I hope the merger will enable the XM system to utilize the Sirius satellites, as the reception in the East West Valleys out here, is very sparodic, to say the least.

As for pricing YES it is getting pricey, but I would like to stick with Satellite for at least another year.

Anyway ,I will let the experts weigh in with thier thoughts about the possible merger, and whether we will see some improvements.

Thanks for reading this Pacific Pete and the crew

The Canadian service just piggybacks the U.S. so you won't see any difference. The U.S. service has been merged for some time and they essentially still operate as two separate companies.

Word on the street is that eventually they will be migrating to the XM platform and slowly discontinuing Sirius radios.
