Wondering if anyone knows if you can use a 5200 receiver with only 1 input going into it. I tried and it seems like no matter what I do (checking switch, factory reset), it still thinks there's a second line and all recordings attempt to record on the 2nd feed (which there is no connection).
So, is the 5200 for dual inputs only?

thanks,
Darren

The 5200 is like all Dual Tuner Receivers and is designed for 2 seperate feeds to use it correctly.

You will most likely continue to get error messages with just the 1 line.

You can change the default record setting to use Tuner 1, it is somewhere in the Menu, not sure exactly where.

If this is your only receiver or 1 of 2, you should consider getting a DPP LNBF, this will allow to to use 1 line with a DPP Seperator behind the receiver to feed both Tuners, then you can record 1 show whilst watching another, or record 2 shows while watching a previously recorded one.

It is possible, but it will run like a 5900. You have to set the receiver to dual mode then hook the sat feed to tuner 2. Hook the tv up useing the tv 2 output.
This is a one tv solution tho.

This is a alternate to the proper DPP solution.

The way it is connected it can still feed 2 TV's with fully indepedent access to the PVR.

Yes a DPP setup would be much better but that was NOT the question.
