Canadians will soon be able to watch shomi content on Xbox One .

According to shomi, on Tuesday, May 3, members can start thinking “inside the box” when the subscription video on demand service launches on Xbox One.

Shomi members will be able to use the Xbox Live network on Xbox One to watch shows and movies, kids and family content, and shomi Collections.

Xbox One owners will also be able to stream exclusive and buzz-worthy series, like Mr. Robot, Mad Dogs, SuperMansion, and Catastrophe, along with day-and-date releases of Empire, Jane the Virgin, Fresh Off the Boat, iZOMBIE, and The Originals.

The shomi app on Xbox One comes in HD quality, with new content added weekly.

Shomi is jointly owned by Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications and is viewed as Canada’s competitor to Netflix , with a library of over 11,000 hours worth of television programs available.

The service emphasizes manually curated categories of content, as opposed to the algorithmic approach used by competing services.

Shomi content can be accessed as an over-the-top service through the service's website and apps, or through the video on demand libraries of participating television providers.
